Almost a number

In less than 1 week, our little monkey will be a number! We can't believe that a year has gone by already. It's very strange, because it feels like just yesterday he came into our lives, but at the same time it feels like he's been with us forever. Ethan has grown so much in the past year. At first, we waited forever for him to do something new, and now he does new things almost every day. He's either making new sounds, waving to people at the supermarket, pushing himself on his train, or just sitting down and enjoying a good book about shapes.
In the last post, we mentioned that he had begun walking, and since then, he has become quite the professional. He can walk all over the house, although he does look a bit drunk sometimes, and he walks everywhere on his tiptoes like some kind of adorable, chubby legged ballerino. Now that he doesn't fall on his head anymore, Mommy and Daddy were able to pick up the colored Pee Wee's playhouse like square padded letter blocks off of the floor. Now our livingroom (alcatraz) is looking more like a living room again.
This weekend is Ethan's monkey-themed birthday party. We are expecting a lot of people, and it will be a great time. Daddy finally got the backyard looking halfway descent, and we are going to have some great fun. Grammy Litsch, Uncle Joe, and Grandpa are coming into town for the festivities. Grammy Rechenberg, Poppy and Uncle Keith can't make it, so we are having a seperate party for Ethan in Jersey the following weekend.
