Lions and Lambs

March is here,  and with it comes the promise of warmer days ahead (but not right now). The kids have been spending the Winter months inside growing like weeds. Violet is already in 6 month clothes, and Ethan is already into 3T size clothes and size 7-8 shoes! As we approach the end of Winter, Ethan can't wait for the weather to change so he can back to playing outside, and Violet doesn't even know what warm weather is, because the week she was born was the last real time is was truly hot outside. She is in for quite the surprise when she finds out that it can be nice outside and it actually gets warm enough to go outside without having to put 7 layers of cloths on!

We just got back from a trip to Jersey to celebrate cousin Ciara's 1st birthday! We had so much fun visiting with Grammy, Poppy, Uncle Keith, Krista, Jenna, and of course the Birthday girl. We drove up on a Saturday for the first long road trip in the new car. Ethan must have been extra excited, because upon arrival, Ethan decided to get sick (on Grammy!), but he felt fine right afterwards, taking right to running wild all over Grammy's house. Sunday, we all gathered at Uncle Keith's house for some good old Jersey Italian food and Ice Cream cake.  Ethan and Violet love playing with their cousins so much, and it was so great to see Ciara up and running around. Now she is really able to mix it up with the older kids, and soon, Violet will be right behind her.

Monday, before we left, Ethan had a special treat when Grammy brought him outside to feed 2 loaves of bread to the dozens of ducks, Swans, and seagulls. Anyone who knows Ethan knows how entertained he is by feeding animals, so this was just what the doctor ordered.

On a milestone note, We've just begun putting Violet in her crib at night,  and much to our delight, she has taken to it quite well. Within a week, she has given us multiple nights of 6+hours straight without waking up, and when she wakes up, she usually eats and goes right back to sleep for a few more hours! This is a really great step for her overall routine, and for Mommy and Daddy's sanity! Ethan has been really talking like crazy now, he runs around counting, singing songs we didn't even know that he knew, and following along with the stories in his book. Sometimes it still seems like he isn't speaking English, but other times he speaks so clearly. It's really amazing how far both of these kids have come, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
